NPA recently celebrated the opening of a new 25,000 sq. ft. addition dedicated to press remanufacturing and after-market component and spare part production at its world headquarters in Minster, Ohio. The Nidec Minster facility is part of a massive global investment in press remanufacturing and Customer Service infrastructure.
New and expanded Customer Service centers have recently been put into production on three continents, allowing NPA to expand its offering of high-quality press and component remanufacturing with short lead times and competitive pricing.
NPA combines the expertise and resources of Minster, Arisa, Kyori, Vamco and SYS tooffer cost-effective and timely solutions for customer service projects around the globe.
“We are very pleased to offer expanded service support for our customers regardless of where they are located,” NPA President and COO Steve Gruber said. “We are making a big investment in state-of-the-art facilities at multiple locations that will allow Nidec Press & Automation to respond more quickly with a greater range of service products.”
Much of the NPA facilities’ growth has been targeted toward the expansion of remanufacturing capabilities. With more than 120 years of manufacturing experience, NPA has been remanufacturing presses and press components for more than 70 years.
The new remanufacturing center at the Minster, Ohio facility includes six dedicated remanufacturing bays, a large paint room, a 75-ton crane, an Okuma Bridge Mill, a large Zeiss Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), and additional state-of-the-art machine tools earmarked solely for aftermarket part production.
NPA has also opened a new and expanded Customer Service Center in Querétaro, Mexico, along with dedicated Customer Service additions in Navarrete, Spain, and Pinghu, China.
The new NPA facility in Mexico will allow for complete remanufacturing of larger presses and large press component rebuilds.
The repair parts warehouse will be greatly expanded to include more space for stocking common replacement parts for Minster, Vamco, Arisa and Kyori products. The new facility will also include a product showroom, training rooms and has been constructed on a large lot with future expansions in mind.
Additional staffing is being added at the Mexico facility, including an Arisa Technical Support Manager and four technicians.
Nidec Arisa recently moved into a new $30 million production facility in Navarrete, Spain, while the manufacturing operations for Kyori presses in Pinghu, China is also undergoing a major expansion project.
The facility improvements in Spain and China will not only boost new press production but will also provide the resources for remanufacturing all of the NPA machinery brands on location.
“NPA is investing in facilities and staff on a global basis to remanufacture presses and equipment for customers’ applications,” said NPA Vice President of Service Tim Fletcher. “Our global experts can remanufacture equipment that exactly meets application requirements for 40 to 70 percent of the cost of new equipment, and delivered with an industry-leading warranty.”
